More items added to list of recalled Quaker Oats products
The Quaker Oats Company has added more products that were distributed in Jamaica to the list it recalled in December over possible salmonella contamination.
In a media release, the company through its local distributor Massy Distribution, announced that the recall now also applies to some Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cinnamon, Quaker Oatmeal Squares Brown Sugar and Cap'n Crunch OOPS! All Berries Cereal.
The initial recall had covered mainly granola bars and granola cereals.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhoea nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
