The matter remains under investigation.

The police in Clarendon are reporting that skeletal remains found along Jackson Bay Beach in Portland Cottage on Sunday are believed to be a fisherman who went missing in early January.

Information is that the fisherman boarded a taxi in Rocky Point on January 11 and did not return home.

His family subsequently filed a missing person's report.

Today, relatives reportedly conducted a search along the beach and stumbled upon partial skeletal remains clad in black jeans and a dark-coloured shirt.

A foot of white sneakers was reportedly found some metres away from the remains.

The police say after seeing the items of clothing, the missing man's father said he strongly believes that the remains belong to his 30-year-old son.

The matter remains under investigation.
