A court date for him is being finalised.

A St Mary man accused of blackmailing a minor with whom he reportedly had a relationship and using explicit photos to force her to have sex with him against her will has been charged by the police.

Thirty-five-year-old Bryan Walsh, a security guard of Saltrum district in Gayle, has been charged with rape, grievous sexual assault, sexual grooming of a child and possession of child pornography.

A court date for him is being finalised.

Reports from the Port Maria police are that Walsh and the teen met on Facebook in April 2021 and started a relationship.

The teen reportedly sent Walsh photos, which he threatened to release if his sexual demands were not met.

In an effort to meet his demands, the teen went to Walsh's home in his community in November 2021 where he allegedly sexually assaulted her, according to the police.

A report was made to the police.

Walsh was later arrested and subsequently charged after he was pointed out during an identification parade.
