70-year-old woman dies after being hit by car in St James
A 70-year-old St James woman was killed on Tuesday after being hit by a motorist who lost control of their car after swerving to avoid a pothole.
She is Unice Edwards of Somerton.
The police report that about 9:30 a.m., Edwards was walking along the Windsor Lodge main road when the driver of a Toyota Allion motor car swerved to avoid a pothole.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with a light post, and then hit Edwards.
She sustained injuries and was assisted to hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
Investigations continue.
