It is down to the final seven of the parish finalists who are vying to become champion of The Gleaner's Children's Own Spelling Bee National Finals.

A total of 13 parish champions are present in the competition as the representative from Westmoreland was unavoidably absent.

The spellers who have made it through to the final round are:

1. Jahmawl Hall, St Ann

2. Nathan Walker, St James

3. Ryhiem Edwards, St Elizabeth

4. Wayne Walker, Manchester

5. Daniel Harrison, St Catherine

6. Ravindrae Vickers, Kingston

7. Ashawney Burrell, St. Andrew

No girls made it into the final round but based on their spelling in the semi finals and the scores they received in yesterday's dictation, comprehension, written spelling and vocabulary tests, Kyria Hinds from St Mary came out on top as the girl's national champion.
