The IC says the video is a brazen and desperate attempt to denigrate and undermine its integrity, impartiality and independence.

Jamaica's single anti-corruption body has denounced a video it says contains false, defamatory and politically-motivated statements against its Director of Investigation, Kevon Stephenson.

In a media release, the Integrity Commission (IC) says it has taken note of the video circulating which contains the false and dangerous statements made against its director.

The IC says the video is a brazen and desperate attempt to denigrate and undermine its integrity, impartiality and independence.

“The Commission considers this unfortunate development as a reprehensible act which could place the safety and life of Director Stephenson, as well as other officers of the Commission, in danger,” the IC stated.

The anti-corruption body has called on “all well-thinking Jamaicans to forthrightly reject this and all other acts of intimidation that are directed against it, or its officers, as it seeks to fearlessly, fairly and faithfully discharge its mandates under the Integrity Commission Act, in the interest of Jamaica and all Jamaicans”.
