Kitson Town gears up for the return of gospel festival
THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED Kitson Town Gospel Festival, organised by Hummingbird Charities, is set to grace the lawns of Kitson Town Primary School on Tuesday, February 13. This annual event has become a beacon of unity and celebration, bringing together the community through a shared expression of faith.
This year’s festival promises an evening filled with soul-stirring performances by Kevin Downsell, John Mark Wiggan, Nicholet Brown, and Rian Davis. Additional performances will be delivered by Albert Archer, Lamar Cooper, Orlando Bramwell, Jerry Swaby, Crystal Maye, Sueshawna, Ketano, and Minister Howdy.
Gospel sensation John Mark Wiggan, who wowed the Kitson Town audience last year, shared his excitement for the upcoming festival.
“It was an honour being introduced to the people of Kitson Town last year for the first time; it was a warm welcome. And now, with the album being released, there’s so much more that I’m ready to give them and to celebrate with them so we can worship God in a brand new way together,” he expressed.
Wiggan, who will be performing songs from his latest album, Validation, released last year, indicated his commitment to spreading a message of affirmation through his music.
“I’m still carrying the Validation message and theme, affirming people by way of using the word of God, telling them who they are and who He is,” he said.
The festival provides an opportunity for local churches to actively participate by offering refreshments and food. Gates will open at 4 p.m., with the main event kicking off at 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, exemplifying its commitment to providing a wholesome family event for the Kitson Town community and beyond.
According to Dr Chris Tufton, a patron of Hummingbird Charities, this event has become a cherished tradition, fostering unity and spiritual upliftment within the community.
“This has been an annual event for the past seven years, interrupted by the challenges of COVID-19. It’s intended to highlight the Kitson Town community through praise, worship, and fellowship. We want to make it a recurring calendar event that brings the community together for an evening of celebration, reflection, and shared joy,” Dr Tufton remarked.
He continued, “The line-up this year is exceptional, and we believe that the performances will resonate with everyone, regardless of age or background”.
As the countdown to the Kitson Town Gospel Festival begins, anticipation is high for an evening filled with spiritual upliftment and the warmth of community fellowship. Kitson Town residents and visitors alike are encouraged to mark their calendars for this unforgettable event.
