Two women are among four people who were shot and injured at a popular bar on Beckford Street in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

The women and two men, who reside in the parish capital, are now hospitalised.

The police say the victims were patrons at a party when a motorcycle with two men aboard approached and stopped. The men then brandished firearms and opened fire at the crowd.

In fear for their lives, the patrons scrambled for cover.

Wednesday night's shooting incident is the second such in the last three weeks.

In the first incident that took place on January 27,  a woman was among five patrons at a party who were shot and injured on Barracks Road.

Yesterday's incident took place metres away from the scene of last month's shooting.

The Westmoreland police are investigating both incidents.
