Trelawny farmer allegedly chopped to death by cousin
A 59-year-old farmer was chopped to death allegedly by a male relative at his home in Sherwood Content, Trelawny early Sunday.
The accused, who is also a farmer, is now in police custody.
The deceased has been identified as William Jenkins.
Jenkins was reportedly attacked around 3 a.m.
His brother McKenzie Bennett theorised that the alleged perpetrator "look like him climb through the window an lay wait mi brother in the room".
"I was called to come and look at my brother. When I came I couldn't look his body. [It] was all covered with blood," he told The Gleaner.
The accused man and Jenkins were neighbours.
A woman who said she was a sister of the man accused of the crime said her brother was behaving in an unusual manner in recent days.
"From week him start behave like him mad. Him burn down his house and chop his dog. The chop was so bad the police shot the dog. Mi feel it cause a him cousin an mi never hear dem quarrel," she said.
The Clark's Town police are investigating.
