An interesting contest is expected in Eastern Hanover between Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) minority leader in the Hanover Municipal Corporation, incumbent candidate Devon Brown, and People's National Party (PNP) candidate Lennox Fray, who is making his first entry into representational politics.

With approximately 10,444 electors and 34 polling stations in the division, voting has been steady since the polls opened at 7:00 am.

According to one voter, it is going to be a contest about “who is the better organiser, and who is more liquid”.

Members of the PNP and the JLP were seen transporting young and old, infirmed and disabled to polling stations to cast their ballot.

All the polling stations visited, which opened on time, were well manned.
