A 43-year-old St Thomas woman and her 23-year-old boyfriend have been charged in connection with a gun attack on their landlord in what the police say was an attempt to gain ownership of the man's property.

Charged with conspiracy to commit murder, being an accessory before the fact to commit murder, and wounding with intent are Kemisha Bryan, otherwise called 'Gallie' and DaCosta Bernard, both of Yallahs in the parish.

The police say the shooting happened on the early morning of Friday, February 15.

The police report that the couple resided together at a two-bedroom house owned by the man.

According to the police, Bryan and the landlord have been involved in a longstanding dispute.

It is also being alleged that she threatened to kill him on numerous occasions.

A report was subsequently made to the police and Bryan was subsequently evicted.

According to the police, Bryan allegedly paid an undetermined sum of money to kill the landlord to gain ownership for the dwelling.

The landlord was later shot multiple times on the aforementioned day with her spouse, Bernard, being aware of the crime.

Investigations led to Bryan and Bernard being arrested and on Thursday, February 29, they were charged following interviews.

They are scheduled to appear in the St Thomas Parish Court on March 8.
