Parents of students of May Day High School in Manchester are to benefit from a workshop aimed at imparting techniques and strategies to support their children academically.

It is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at the Cecil Charlton Hall at the Manchester Parish Library.

It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Student Support Pathway Coach at the Ministry of Education Sandra Daley Gordon, in an interview with The Gleaner, stated that fostering collaboration between home and school is essential for creating a supportive environment for learning and growth.

She noted that parents play a critical role in their children's academic success.

"We keenly understand the importance of education and want our community at large to know we are doing our part to raise awareness about the crucial role parents play in the lives of their children and their overall academic success," she said.

The workshop will serve as a platform for parents to learn and apply strategies proven effective in Jamaican classrooms.

"We believe that by working together, we can create a supportive environment that fosters learning and growth for all students," noted Daley Gordon.
