Police constable fined $300,000 for shooting man
Police constable Calvin Speid was today fined $300,000 or six months' imprisonment in the Manchester Parish Court for the 2017 shooting of a man.
Speid was found guilty of unlawful wounding last December.
He was charged in relation to the shooting injury of a man in the vicinity of Noisy River, St Elizabeth on July 17, 2017.
He was first placed before the court on November 20, 2019, following an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations and a ruling for charge by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
