April 11 court date for woman charged with murder of schoolgirl Danielle Rowe
Dental assistant Kayodi Satchell, who is charged with the murder of eight-year-old schoolgirl Danielle Rowe, is to return to court on April 11.
Satchell was further remanded when she appeared before the Home Circuit Court last week Thursday.
At that time, Justice Leighton Pusey asked senior attorney Patrick Peterkin to be the lead lawyer in the case and he accepted.
The judge then directed that the prosecution should issue Peterkin with the relevant documents in the case.
Peterkin told The Gleaner that he is waiting on the documents so he can study the case and then get instructions from the accused.
Attorney-at-law Donovan Collins is also representing Satchell.
She, 30, has been in custody since she was arrested and charged.
The deceased, who was a second grade student at Braeton Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St Catherine, was abducted on June 8 last year from her school.
The child was seen later that day with her throat slashed, wandering on Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew.
She was rushed by persons in the area to the Bustamante Hospital for Children where she died two days later.
The post mortem report revealed the child died from an incised wound to the neck.
Investigations by the police led to Satchell being arrested on August 11 last year.
She was subsequently charged with murder.
