An atmosphere of celebration permeated the walls of Edwin Allen High school on Monday morning as the institution commemorated winning the girls' title in the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys' and Girls' Athletics Championships on Saturday.

With horns blaring and music blasting through speakers, students, staff and the extended school community honoured the team that had brought them glory once more.

The Frankfield, Clarendon-based school dethroned defending champions Hydel High to reclaim the championship.

"I know this trophy was very uncomfortable where it was so we brought it back home," veteran coach Michael Dyke declared.

This is the school's 10th championship title, a feat the principal, Jermaine Harris, stated would not be possible without strong support from the school's alumni and other partners.

"Those chapters would have made it possible in terms of giving tirelessly to the cause, and we are looking forward to working with these groups to continue the support at Edwin Allen High School," he said.

The school's boys team placed 10th in the championship.
