St Elizabeth farmer charged with murder

A Comma Pen district, St Elizabeth man was charged on Monday in relation to the death of a 62-year-old farmer during an argument.  

He is 37-year-old farmer Jerome Reid, who turned himself in to the police and was subsequently charged.

A court date is being finalised.

The incident happened on Saturday, March 16.

The police report that about 6 p.m., Reid and Powell were having a heated dispute when Reid used a tool to hit Powell in the head.

Powell was later taken to the hospital where he received treatment.

However, Powell succumbed to his injuries two days later.
