Hanover shopkeeper gunned down, firearm seized
The Hanover police are probing the shooting death of 68-year-old Clinton Moodie at his shop in Mount Pellier, Sandy Bay.
They say a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized at the scene.
The police report that 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, residents reportedly heard explosions coming from the direction of Moodie's shop.
Upon reaching the area, Moodie was seen lying on his back over the counter with multiple gunshot wounds.
A report was made to the police and on their arrival, the scene was processed.
During the processing of the scene, a Browning nine millimetre pistol with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds of ammunition was found.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigation continues.
