Update | Westmoreland man charged over seizure of sub-machine gun

The Savanna-la-Mar police have now charged a man in relation to the seizure of a sub-machine gun and several rounds of ammunition in Retreat, Little London on Tuesday.
He is 29-year-old labourer Demario Williams, who is charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
A court date is being arranged.
The police report that about 12:30 p.m., officers were conducting an operation in the area when they saw Williams walking towards a building carrying a green plastic bag.
His suspicious behaviour prompted the officers to approach Williams, who then fled on foot.
The officers gave chase and apprehended Williams.
A search of the premises revealed a Kel-Tec sub-machine gun and eleven .40 calibre cartridges.
Williams was arrested and subsequently charged.
