Minister of Transport Daryl Vaz says he is deeply saddened by the passing of three employees of the Jamaican Urban Transit Company (JUTC).

“They were loved by their colleagues and passengers alike and will be missed by the countless persons whose lives they have touched in various ways,” said Vaz in a statement today.

It is reported that the employees, Glendon Clarke, Adrian Marriott and Winston Malcolm, died over the weekend from unrelated circumstances.

It is further reported that Marriott and Malcolm died of natural causes, while Clarke died as a result of a falling accident.

The transport minister also expressed condolences to the family members noting that “we can never truly be prepared for the passing of a loved one, especially, when it is so unexpected and sudden. My heart goes out to the families of these men in this time of unimaginable pain and loss.”

Vaz also offered words of encouragement to the members of staff of the JUTC.

“This is not easy for any of us, and I know the effort it took for all the employees to show up at work today; but based on the reports of the people who knew these men, I believe that they are honoured by the presence of their colleagues, who came out today to show their support and love to each other.”
