JUTC workers withdraw service in Portmore over stabbing of driver
The police are advising members of the public to expect delays as drivers of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC), who ply the Portmore to downtown Kingston route, have withdrawn their services.
The drivers' action came as a result of a colleague being stabbed by a passenger.
The male passenger reportedly requested a stop at an area that is not a designated bus stop.
The driver refused, resulting in the passenger stabbing him.
The police say the condition of the driver is unknown at this time as he is being treated at hospital.
Members of the public are being urged to use alternative methods of transportation where possible.
