The triumphant St Jago High Schools' Challenge Quiz team has been given a $300,000 grant by the St Catherine Municipal Corporation.

The school visited the Corporation on Thursday during its monthly general meeting.

"We have acknowledged the presence of the St Jago High School on its success in the recently concluded Schools' Challenge Quiz. It is three in a row and we congratulate them," Chairman of the Corporation, Norman Scott, said.

Captain of the team, Jhaneille Esson, responded on behalf of the team, saying it was a great achievement and will serve to encourage the school going forward.

"I am very thankful for all my colleagues, the teachers, coaches and the St Catherine Municipal  Corporation for its support. Thank you," Esson said.

The team made it three straight wins in the annual competition hosted by Television Jamaica as the Monk Street-based institution triumphed over Calabar High School on April 4.

In 2023, the school was given $275,000 by the Corporation for its effort.
