Digita Global Marketing Ltd (DGM) in collaboration with Smart Mobile Solutions (SMS) has committed to sponsor two years of internet service and technical support for Annie Dawson’s Home, valued at $300,000.00 as well as providing 15 Alcatel tablets. This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and provide access to various educational materials, empowering the children to explore new horizons, develop life-changing digital skills and unlock boundless opportunities for growth and learning.

Ivaline Nickie, founder and executive director of the Home, said, “The decision of Digita Global Marketing and Smart Mobile Solutions to support the Annie Dawson Home for Children is indeed very timely and answers our prayers. These are tough and challenging times for those of us who have taken the bold step to engage in a ministry with children and teens with minimal resources.”

The Annie Dawson Home, located in central Kingston, presently cares for 30 children between ages seven to 18 years. Over the ,years the Home has faced numerous challenges with available devices and connectivity which has placed the students within its care at a significant disadvantage. Alerted to the facility’s challenges, the CEO of DGM, Kemal Brown, said he was compelled to give assistance.

“We are elated to support Annie Dawson’s Children’s Home in their mission to provide a nurturing environment for vulnerable youth. By investing in internet connectivity and technology, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children,” he said.

Dane Spencer, CEO of SMS who facilitated the handover of the 15 Alcatel 9032 tablets, said: “By providing them with these tablets, we are not only supplementing their education; we are opening doors to a world of possibilities. From coding and digital literacy to creative expression and entrepreneurship, these tablets will enable the children to build life-changing skills that will serve them well into the future,” said Spencer.

The donation of internet service, tablets, and financial support was officially presented to the Home during a ceremony on April 17.
