People's National Party Councillor for the Gayle Division in St Mary Jouvaughnie Byfield says the transportation needs of cops at the Port Maria Police Station should be addressed immediately.

According to Byfield, the station has been without a service vehicle for the past two months.

“The lack of a service vehicle severely limits the police's ability to carry out their duties effectively,” He asserted in a media release today.

“They are unable to respond quickly to emergencies, conduct patrols, or transport personnel and equipment as needed. This puts both our officers and the community at risk," he added.

Byfield says the relevant authorities must move to fix the situation.
