In an uphill battle to restore her once barely habitable home, 51-year-old Lynette Lyons-Levy faced challenges securing the necessary resources for many years. However, a partnership with Food For the Poor Jamaica (FFPJ) and the Desnoes and Geddes (D&G) Foundation brought a ray of hope into her life. Both charities visited Clifton district in Spanish Town, St Catherine, last week to build her a new home and donate a sewing machine for her seamstressing work, marking a significant turning point in her life. Here the D&G and FFPJ teams put the finishing touches on Lyons-Levy’s new house, before they all gather for an official handover and photo op.
