IT WAS an evening of excellence, the recent Prime Minister National Youth Award for Excellence, that is. People were awarded for their contribution to various spheres of Jamaica life by the prime minister, who handed out the trophies. It was a very special occasion for the nominees, their families, relatives, friends and associates, and so they went into their closets and took out their best get-ups.

And while they were waiting with bated breath for the event to start, the red carpet exploded into an impromptu ‘fashion parade’. There should have been an award for fashion. Next year, perhaps. The whole event itself was a ‘fashion show’ and The Gleaner was there to capture the glitz and glamour.
