The Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) is joining the public appeal for information on missing 29-year-old St Peter Claver Primary School teacher, Danielle Anglin.

Anglin, who lives in the Hellshire area of Portmore, St Catherine, was last seen about 5:50 a.m. on Monday, while on her way to work in St Andrew. She is of dark complexion, slim build and about 5 feet 6 inches tall.

The JTA is appealing to anyone with information which could lead to her safe return to call the 119 police emergency number, the nearest police station or the Jamaica Teachers' Association at 876-922 -1385-7.

The association notes that violence is not being contained to specific areas but is now being perpetrated against all Jamaicans, teachers and students alike.

It says it's concerned about the negative impact of violence on the education sector.

"Violence of any sort in our society continues to have a debilitating impact on all aspects of our educational landscape and this is counterproductive," it adds.

The JTA is urging law-abiding citizens to help rid communities and the country of "the atrocities which continue to be paraded against the nation's children, elders, teachers and generally all Jamaicans".

In recent times, schools across the island have been experiencing a series of violent incidents.

A 17-year-old boy was charged this week with murder and wounding with intent following the stabbing death of 20-year-old Catholic College of Mandeville student, Akeilia White, on Monday.
