A St Elizabeth farmer and construction worker who was accused of a 2022 rape was charged on Thursday after he returned to Jamaica.

He is 35-year-old Odain Lee, otherwise called 'New Money'.

The Black River police say a woman was offered a ride home on August 12, 2022, and boarded a Toyota Voxy motor vehicle with Lee and the driver inside.

The driver reportedly diverted to a sports complex, where Lee allegedly pulled her from the vehicle and sexually assaulted her.

A warrant was obtained for his arrest after a report was made to the police.

His court date is being finalised.
