Two men arrested over gun seizure in Franklyn Town

Two men have been arrested over the seizure of a gun during a police operation in Franklyn Town in Kingston, today.
The police say about 11 a.m., a team in the community of Northumberland Lane saw a man whose actions aroused their suspicion.
"On seeing the police team, the man ran into a house — he was pursued and caught," said a statement on the operation in the Kingston Eastern police division.
The police say they searched the house and found the firearm as well as ten 9mm rounds of ammunition.
Another man who was seen in the house was held.
Both men were taken into custody as further investigations take place.
Meanwhile, over in Hanover, the police are reporting the seizure of a firearm and 14 assorted rounds of ammunition during an operation in Forrest district in Ramble.
The Ramble police say about 2:30 a.m., the team was in the area when a premises was searched and one 9mm Beretta pistol, with a magazine containing four 9mm rounds of ammunition and two twelve gauge cartridges were found in a house.
No one was arrested.
