Haitian women arrested in Old Harbour remanded on illegal entry charge

Two Haitian women charged with illegal entry after being arrested in Old Harbour, St Catherine were today remanded in the parish court.

Charged are 38-year-old Luca Vilmere and 37-year-old Dating Officiane.

They were ordered to return to court on June 28, at which time their lawyer, Melani Alleyne, is expected to make a bail application before Senior Parish Court Judge Yvette Wenthworth-Miller.

Alleyne told the court that they are fit and proper candidates and that they have sureties to stand bail.

Allegations are that on June 15, the women were arrested in Old Harbour and after being interviewed by the police, in the presence of their lawyer, they were charged with illegal entry.
