Sections of Spanish Town flooded by heavy rain

Torrential rain resulted in flooding in several sections of St Catherine on Tuesday evening.

In Spanish Town, Morrison Street, Young Street and sections of St John's Road were flooded.

Numerous vehicles stalled while some motorists parked to await the water runoff.

Some motorists were forced to divert through the Red Pond community to get home.

"Lawd Jeezas mi caan believe this, as is only funeral mek so much vehicle come through Red Pond," Paulette Jones said.

Along the Red Pond corridor, young men dressed in water boots aided several motorists whose vehicles stalled.

"Mi general, yu know dat a five bills  fi push dat out a di road, wah yu sey?" one man said to a driver.

In the Old Capital, several businesses drew their shutters while scores of persons used piazzas to shelter.
