Allman Town Primary School principal has died
Principal of Allman Town Primary in St Andrew, La-Toya Clarke, has died.
She died on August 10 after a brief illness.
Tributes and condolences have been pouring in from the education sector, the Hampton Old Girls' Association, the Optimist International Caribbean District, the Mico University College (where she was a part-time lecturer), her Allman Town Primary School family and friends.
LaToya, who was pursuing her doctor of philosophy degree in education at the William Howard Taft University in Denver, Colorado, USA, has been hailed as the consumate professional and transformative principal.
She was an optimist at heart who was very passionate about education and had a zest for life.
In her memory, a candlelight vigil will be held on the school grounds of the Allman Town Primary school on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
The celebration for her life will be held on September 7, 2024, in Kingston, at a church to be announced, and interment follows on the same day at Mountainside in St. Elizabeth.
