St Ann couple charged after illegal gun allegedly found in their home
A St Ann couple was arrested and charged with several offences following the seizure of a firearm in the Bellaire Housing Scheme in Runaway Bay, St Ann, on Sunday.
They have been identified as 46-year-old wood carver, Omar Henry, otherwise called 'Smokey', and 34-year-old shopkeeper, Stacey Allen, otherwise called 'Chi Chi', both of Bellaire Housing Scheme.
They are charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, possession of ganja and dealing in ganja.
The police say between 4:45 a.m., and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, the couple's home was searched as part of a joint police/military operation.
During the search, a Smith and Wesson nine millimetre pistol with a magazine containing three cartridges was allegedly found, along with approximately eight pounds of ganja.
The couple was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
