Flash flood warning and watch discontinued for all parishes
The Meteorological Service of Jamaica has discontinued the flash flood warning for southeastern and southcentral parishes and the flash flood watch for southwestern and northeastern parishes, effective immediately.
Rainfall data indicated that moderate to heavy showers affected sections of south-central and eastern parishes up to mid-morning today. Thereafter, partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers prevailed across most parishes.
According to the Met Office, the analysis of satellite imagery showed that most of the showers and thunderstorms associated with the area of low pressure across the southwestern Caribbean remained offshore the south coast of Jamaica today.
The forecast is for the system to slowly drift northwestward and away from Jamaica tonight. This should result in occasional cloudy skies tonight with isolated thunderstorms across southern coastal areas, and becoming partly cloudy by tomorrow morning.
