Portmore make-up artist charged with gun possession

A 30-year-old make-up artist from Portmore in St Catherine has been charged with gun possession following a police operation at her home on Friday. 

She is Nalia Rose from Cedar Grove Boulevard. 

She has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition. 

The Bridgeport police allegedly found a black Diamondback 9mm pistol during a search of her bedroom around 5:40 a.m. The weapon had a magazine with six 9mm cartridges, a statement said Tuesday. 

Rose was subsequently arrested.
