Media personality ‘Curvy Diva’ charged with simple larceny and malicious destruction of property
Media personality and businesswoman Yanique 'Curvy Diva' Barrett has been charged by the police with simple larceny, housebreaking, and malicious destruction of property.
They say the charges stem from an incident at a business establishment located on Dunrobin Avenue in St Andrew in July 2023.
Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that about 7:28 p.m., the owner had securely locked his establishment before leaving the premises.
Shortly after, Barrett, who previously had a business relationship with the owner, was allegedly observed on the property accompanied by a locksmith.
Upon being alerted, the owner returned to find the locks severed, furniture and other items missing, and damage done to the building, according to the police.
Following an investigation, Barrett was formally charged on Thursday, December 5.
She is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, December 12.
