Section of Constant Spring Road to be reduced to single-lane traffic at nights
The National Works Agency (NWA) has advised that the northbound section of Constant Spring Road in St Andrew will be reduced to single-lane traffic, beginning tonight.
The change will affect traffic between the Ministry of Justice and Manor Park and will facilitate repair works, the NWA says.
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that the work along the section of the road is to be executed at nights, over the next two weeks.
He says the work is slated to be done between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.
The activities include the removal of sections of the asphaltic concrete surface, through a process referred to as milling, and the laying of a new surface. Some sheet patching will also be done in selected areas.
Shaw says that the work is being done under the heading of defects liability, which formed part of the rehabilitative works contract executed by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) for the widening of the corridor.
Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution, obey the posted signs and the instructions of the flag persons.
