Governor General recovering from spinal surgery
King's House has disclosed that Governor General Sir Patrick Allen is now recovering following a successful spinal surgery.
It had announced on Monday that Sir Patrick would undergo the surgery aimed at alleviating the "debilitating and painful effect of his condition".
In an update on Thursday afternoon, King's House said, "As he continues to recover, His Excellency looks forward to resume his duties and continue his service to the nation."
His office also expressed gratitude to the University Hospital of the West Indies and Tony Thwaites Wing staff, especially the surgical team led by Dr Carl Bruce, who, it said, diligently provided medical care to Sir Patrick.
"He is also grateful to the Jamaican people for their prayers, well wishes and support. Your kindness and encouragement have been a great source of strength," King's House said.
