Apartment fire at Turtle Towers in Ocho Rios

A fire today damaged an apartment at Turtle Towers in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was confined to the ninth floor of the 11-floor apartment building.
Divisional Commander Anthony Hinds told The Gleaner the St Ann's Bay fire department got a call at 10:09 a.m. about the fire and two units from the St Ann's Bay Fire Station and one from the Ocho Rios Fire Station responded.
“The fire was confined to an apartment on the ninth floor of tower number 4; the brigade went into operation and brought the fire under control; no injury or death was reported,” Hinds said.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
It is unclear how the fire will impact operations at the towers as efforts to get a comment from Tourism Product Development (TPDCo) were unsuccessful.
