Deadline extended for resubmission of Reverse Income Tax Credit applications
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising persons whose applications for the Reverse Income Tax Credit (RITC) were rejected due to invalid banking or tax information that the deadline for resubmission has been extended to January 31.
It says the approximately 9,000 individuals have up to 11:59 p.m. on that date to resubmit via the online platform at https://www.jamaicatax.gov.jm/ritc.
Eligible taxpayers who have been advised to resubmit their applications, are recommended to opt for the one-time tax giveback payment to be sent to the listed remittance agencies, if they continue to experience challenges with providing valid banking information.
TAJ says these agencies may charge a fee.
It has disclosed that since the October 2024 implementation of the one-off RITC, 343,086 Jamaicans have benefited from disbursements totalling $6,861,720,000.
TAJ says the latest payments are scheduled for the last week in January, with the final RITC payment scheduled to be made in February.
