Pastor Dianne Fletcher – A role model for Christian living
LET’S FACE it, life can be stressful. Between work, family obligations, and church commitments, it can be hard to find time to invest in the women in your life.
However, in the midst of our obligations, we know how much it means when someone intentionally reaches out with a kind word or listening ear. Even small acts of kindness can lift our spirits and remind us that God created us for community.
According to Pastor Dianne Fletcher, director and senior pastor at Church On The Rock, it is important that we make the time to show appreciation and build deeper relationships with the people God has placed in our lives – first, personal relationship with God, and, second, intentional relationships with others. The Bible even reminds us of the importance of gathering together and offering encouragement: “ ‘And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching’,” Pastor Fletcher said.
As an avid Christian, Pastor Fletcher grew up in the church. However, she did not receive the transformative power of conviction and fellowship with God until she had a miraculous encounter with Him during a tumultuous period with her husband.
After God intervened, she indicated that she had no choice in selflessly serving the church. Following the restoration of her marriage and experiencing the call of God at the altar where she sought forgiveness and renewal, she embraced His leading to dedicate her life to ministry.
“I was always an independent and self-reliant person, but I had to embrace what I was called to do; and this is to empower, strengthen and guide others. There was a calling upon my life; and God called me to serve. I even left my job and became involved in the ministry of the church, working alongside the founder of the church, Pastor David Keane,” Pastor Fletcher said.
Since 2005, both herself and her husband, Apostle Franz Fletcher, have been passionate leaders in the church with a deep commitment to God. Currently, Pastor Fletcher oversees the church’s daily operations and directs the marriage, women’s, and deliverance ministries. “We recognised that God’s hand was on us, and He knew what He was preparing us for,” she said.
MINISTRY EXTENDS BEYOND THE CHURCH
Pastor Fletcher also serves on the board of the Honeyhill Community Transformation Foundation, leading social intervention programmes through the church. Her ministry extends beyond the church through her online platform, Real Talk with Dianne, which offers encouragement and guidance to individuals, both locally and internationally.
Pastor Fletcher will be one of the main presenters at the Woman Ignite Success Summit, an event that aims to empower women to thrive in various areas of life. The 2025 summit will take place on Saturday, January 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel. The theme is ‘THRIVE’.
Pastor Fletcher ‘s objectives, she said, are to encourage women to create positive and transformative experiences with each other, and to stay connected to God, despite their challenges.
“God created us! As women, what we do not realise is that we need each other. Over the years, this summit has helped women to stay connected with God. When we come together and recognise that we are not each other’s enemies, we can feel God’s presence in our lives to help to build and motivate each other to become better individuals,” she said.
Too many women, she added, are insecure about many aspects of their lives, and are choosing the wrong paths while they seek validation. Women, she said, can remain confident in God’s word, that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, and they can live happy and fulfilling lives with Christ at the helm.
“I learned throughout my life that problems are a part of life; and facing them is the art of life. While we cannot tell God to take our problems away from us, when we support each other, He will assist us to get through our challenges together. I always share the Mary and Elizabeth story; we can be like an Elizabeth, that the baby inside of someone else will leap when we are there for each other,” Pastor Fletcher said.
Pastor Fletcher will share the stage with Dr Christopher Beleke Tabu, ordained prophet and founder of the Faith Center, in Dallas, Texas; Megan Ashley, Christ advocate, Kingdom Ambassador and ‘In Totality’ Podcast host, based in Atlanta; First Lady Alicia Taylor, recording artiste and vocal coach; Dr Sara Lawrence-Lewis, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist; Dr Shalette Ashman, CEO, Learning Hub Group; Latoya Williams, assistant vice-president, Lending Solutions, VMBS, and Pastor Trudy Tucker, director and senior pastor, Family Word and Worship.
“I am very encouraged to see other likeminded women coming together to empower other women. We will be able to pull on each other’s strength and extend the hands of encouragement while seeing the growth of the women that will participate,” Pastor Fletcher said.
