Alleged gangster shot and killed by police in Eltham Park

A St Catherine man was fatally shot by the police after he allegedly engaged them in an armed confrontation on Monday in Eltham Park, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
He has been identified as 24-year-old businessman Aidian McIntosh, otherwise called 'Addi', of Eltham Park.
About 3:15 p.m. a police party was on patrol when a group of men in an unfinished house reportedly caught the attention of members of the team.
The police disembarked the marked service vehicle and approached the gathering and the men dispersed and ran in different directions.
McIntosh was pursued and he reportedly brandished a firearm and pointed it at the police.
The police reportedly took evasive action and fired, injuring McIntosh. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A Glock 27 pistol affixed with a magazine containing five rounds was reportedly taken from McIntosh.
The police say McIntosh was a member of a gang in the parish.
The Independent Commission of Investigations has launched a probe into the matter.
