M16 rifle seized in Red Hills Road police operation, two men arrested

The St Andrew Central police on Monday seized an M16 rifle with a magazine containing twenty 5.56 rounds of ammunition during an operation on Red Hills Road.
Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that about 2:15 p.m., lawmen were in the area when a premises was searched and two men were seen.
The men were accosted and searched.
The premises was also searched.
During the search, the weapon was found in their possession.
They were subsequently taken into custody.
However, their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
