Curfews in Manchester extended
Curfews imposed in sections of the Manchester division has been extended for another 48 hours, ending on Thursday.
The initial 48-hour curfews were due to end on Tuesday.
The areas affected include the parish capital Mandeville, Williamsfield, Porus, and Christiana.
A police statement said the curfew in each area will begin and end at separate intervals.
During the hours of the curfews, persons within the boundaries of the curfew are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the person in charge of enforcing the curfew
For Mandeville and Williamsfield, the areas affected are Royal Flat, Comfort, May Day, New Hall, Albion, Green Street, Barnstaple, Tulsa Road and Hill Side.
The curfew started at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and will remain in effect until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The boundaries are as follows:
North: East along an imaginary line from the Royal Flat Road to an area in the Bartley Town community
East: South along an imaginary line from the northern boundary at the Bartley Town community to an area of vegetation in the Hillside community
South: Westerly along an imaginary line from an area of vegetation at the eastern boundary of the Hillside community to an area of vegetation in the Rent Land Street community
West: Northerly along an imaginary line from the southern boundary at the Rent Land community to the northern border of Royal Flat Road
The Porus area curfew
The curfew started at 8:10 p.m. and will end at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday.
The areas affected are Main Street, Broadleaf, Trinity, Hampton Road, and Redberry Road. These boundaries are:
North: East along an imaginary line from the intersection of the toll road and Melrose district to a section of the Porus main road in the vicinity of Barnett Street
East: South along an imaginary line from the northern boundary at the Porus Main road to the Redberry district
South: Westerly along an imaginary line from the eastern boundary to an area of vegetation to the broadleaf community
West: Northerly along an imaginary line from Redberry at the southern boundary to the northern border at the toll road and Melrose district
The Christiana area curfew
The curfew started at 7 p.m. and will remain in effect until 7 p.m., on Thursday. The areas affected are Craighead, Dobson, Pike, Coleyville, Silent Hill, Ticky-Ticky, and Line-A-Parish. These boundaries are:
North: East along an imaginary line from Craighead to an area of vegetation to Silent Hill
East: South along an imaginary line from the northern boundary to an area of vegetation at Silent Hill
South: Westerly along an imaginary line from the eastern boundary to a section of the main road in Craighead
West: Northerly along an imaginary line from the southern boundary to the northern boundary (bordered by Troy district, Trelawny
