The global demand for natural beauty products has never been higher, yet not all products on the market are what they claim to be.

According to Castor Care Jamaica owner Yunique Francis Myers, many brands are diluting and compromising the authenticity of Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) – a centuries-old remedy known for its potent hair, skin, and wellness benefits.

Yunique, alongside her brother and business partner Jahvoughn Francis, founded Castor Care Jamaica in 2022 with a mission: to deliver pure, unadulterated, and organic JBCO, maintaining the integrity of traditional extraction methods.

The siblings were inspired by their aunt and uncle, castor bean farmers from St Catherine, and have since dedicated themselves to preserving the true essence of this powerful oil.

“It wasn’t until we started using the pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil more regularly – seeing how it strengthened our hair, moisturised our skin, and even helped with pain relief – that we were completely sold on the benefits,” Yunique said.

“We finally had to admit, our aunt was right all this time.”

Determined to modernise and reintroduce this traditional remedy to a new generation, Yunique and Jahvoughn have made it their mission to educate consumers while offering the highest-quality product on the market.

“We’ve been to as many pop-ups, markets, and small business events as possible. The best part? Seeing people fall in love with our product and hearing firsthand how JBCO has worked for them,” she said.

THE AUTHENTICITY CRISIS IN THE JBCO MARKET

Yunique shared her concern that finding pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil can be challenging, noting that many mainstream brands cut corners by adding fillers and diluting the oil, reducing its effectiveness. Castor Care Jamaica refuses to compromise.

“We maintain the traditional extraction process to ensure maximum potency,” Yunique explained.

“We don’t just sell oil; we provide educational resources to help customers understand its many benefits. That’s why our brand statement is ‘Choose Authenticity’ – because it sets us apart and reflects the superior quality of our products.”

Yunique’s extensive background as a media producer, coupled with Jahvoughn’s expertise in marketing, has allowed the brand to craft a strong and trustworthy presence in the natural beauty space.

“At the end of the day, I’m a consumer myself, and I appreciate great value for my money,” she said.

THE FUTURE OF CASTOR CARE JAMAICA

Where does Castor Care Jamaica see itself in five years?

“We won’t just be selling oil,” said Yunique. “We’ll be building a trusted brand synonymous with quality and authenticity in the natural beauty space. Our online presence is already growing, with a user-friendly website in development and an engaging social media community.”

The brand is also exploring strategic partnerships and international distribution channels to bring authentic Jamaican Black Castor Oil to global markets where the demand for natural and organic beauty products is booming.

“For investors looking to be part of an exciting growth story, we invite you to connect with us. The market for ethically sourced, premium beauty products is thriving, and we’re here to lead the charge,” Yunique stated.

Looking ahead, Jahvoughn hopes to see greater unity among Jamaican Black Castor Oil producers.

“Ultimately, we’re all on the same team. By joining forces, we can protect and preserve the Jamaican Black Castor Oil brand, bringing authentic JBCO to a global market and sharing in the collective success,” he said.

As Castor Care Jamaica continues its mission to champion authenticity, one thing is clear: the fight for real Jamaican Black Castor Oil is just beginning, and this brother-sister duo is leading the charge.
