Sangster International Airport (SIA) says it has been alerted of fraudulent Facebook pages falsely claiming to be the official 'lost and found' service for the airport.

In a media release on Tuesday, the airport's management said these pages are not affiliated with the SIA or MBJ Airports Limited in any way.

"The public is strongly advised NOT to interact with these pages, as they may be attempting to collect personal information or solicit funds," the managment said.

It said legitimate lost and found inquiries at Sangster International Airport should be sent to its customer service team via the official email at lostandfound@mbjairport.com.

The public is encouraged to report the fraudulent pages to Facebook and share the advisory with fellow travellers to prevent potential scams.
