Mentally ill man charged with murder following scissors attack
An alleged mentally ill man has been charged with murder and three counts of wounding with intent after a stabbing incident in Hague Settlement in Trelawny.
The accused is 34-year-old Dorando Brown, unemployed, of Hague settlement.
It is alleged that on March 7 Brown was at home when he noticed 40-year-old Leroy McIntosh, a labourer of Hague Settlement, exiting a vehicle and attacked him with a pair of scissors, inflicting stab wounds to his upper body.
Brown allegedly went further along the main road and attacked two men inflicting stab wounds to both.
On his return he reportedly saw a man assisting McIntosh and went on to attack that man, inflicting stab wounds to his upper body.
The wounded persons were taken to the hospital where McIntosh succumbed to the injuries he sustained.
The police were summoned and Brown was subsequently arrested and charged after a statement was recorded.
His court date is being finalised.
