JCC to host 40th annual awards showcase
The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) is set to celebrate exceptional achievements in business innovation and leadership when it holds its 40th Annual JCC Awards on June 12.
The event, along with recognising outstanding companies and individuals, will also honour them for their excellence in displaying corporate responsibility.
As part of this milestone edition, the JCC has received a number of outstanding nominations for the highly coveted awards, which span several key categories reflecting business excellence across Jamaica.
“The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce’s 40th Annual Awards Banquet is a celebration of excellence, innovation, and resilience within the business community,” said Phillip Ramson, president of the JCC. “Under the theme ‘Shaping the Future: Driving Productivity, Championing Equity, Inspiring Entrepreneurship’, this event is more than just an awards ceremony, it is a platform to honour businesses and individuals who are driving Jamaica’s economic and social progress.”
Award Categories
This year’s nominees will be classified in three key categories: The Best of Chamber Award (micro, small, medium, large and extra large), The Carreras Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Award, and The Entrepreneur Award.
Best of Chamber Award – Celebrating excellence in corporate leadership and business performance, this award is presented in five sub-categories: micro, small, medium, large, and extra-large enterprises. Companies will be assessed on their product and service quality, business performance and growth, human resource development, corporate governance, marketing innovation, and corporate social responsibility.
Entrepreneur Award – This award recognises entrepreneurs operating businesses with 20 or fewer employees and an annual turnover of $75m or less. Nominees must exhibit the highest standards of entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, product and service quality, business growth, and impact on the community. The evaluation criteria include business growth, financial performance, corporate social responsibility, and strategic vision.
CARRERAS ESG Award – This award, in its second year as an official category at the JCC, highlights businesses that demonstrate outstanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Companies will be judged on their commitment to environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, governance structures, sustainable supply chain management, and innovation in sustainability solutions.
