The driver of the Mercedes Benz motor car that crashed along the Rio Nuevo main road in St Mary over the weekend resulting in the deaths of three men succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

He has been identified as 34-year-old carpenter Chad Beckford of Steer Town in the parish, who was hospitalised following the crash.

According to a police report, Beckford was driving along the roadway when, upon reaching a section of the corridor, he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a corner.

The vehicle reportedly ran off the road, into bushes, and slammed into a tree, killing three male passengers: Kenroy Fung, Brandon Nelson, and Romario Grey.

They, along with Beckford, were transported to the Port Maria Hospital, where Fung, Nelson, and Grey were pronounced dead, and Beckford was admitted.

Beckford died two days later.
