Titchfield High stages celebratory march in Port Antonio to mark School’s Challenge Quiz victory
Winners of the 2025 TVJ School’s Challenge Quiz competition, Titchfield High School, this morning marched through the town of Port Antonio in Portland as part of their celebrations.
Dozens of cadets, cheerleaders, students, teachers, and past students—some clad in the school’s traditional blue and gold colours—are participating in the march.
The sound of vuvuzelas is echoing through the streets of Port Antonio, including Foreshore Road, West Street, Harbour Street, and King Street, as marchers bearing banners, flags, and dutch-pot covers revel in the festivities.
Later today, a formal function will be held at the school to properly highlight and recognize the academic achievement of the quiz team members and their coaches.
Among the gifts expected to be presented to the team are a cash award of $500,000 from the Portland Municipal Corporation, a bursary valued at approximately $600,000 from Portland West Member of Parliament Daryl Vaz, and tablets for members of the winning team.
Additionally,Portland East MP Ann-Marie Vaz, in whose constituency the school is located, has pledged $400,000 to the team.
Titchfield High defeated Jamaica College 26–23 in the grand finale on Tuesday, April 8.
