Old Harbour woman charged for allegedly stealing $3 million from boyfriend’s house
The Old Harbour police in St Catherine have charged a 30-year-old woman for allegedly stealing over $3 million from the house of her then-boyfriend over a period of time after he gave her a key to his dwelling.
Janalee Nesbeth, of Vineyard Estate in Old Harbour, is charged with larceny from the dwelling.
Nesbeth is also being accused of stealing a 75-inch television and a stove from her ex-lover’s house.
Reports from the Old Harbour police are that the complainant gave the woman, with whom he was in a relationship, a key to his house.
Over a while, the man discovered that some money he had was missing.
While searching for the stolen money in his bedroom, he discovered that his television, a stove, and cash amounting to over $3,000,000 were all missing, according to the police.
A report was made to the police, and a search of Nesbeth's residence was conducted.
She later turned herself in to the police.
She was subsequently arrested and charged on Sunday, May 11, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of her attorney.
Her court date is being finalised.
